Bayern retreat from Lemar hunt
Bayern Munich decided to withdraw in competition with English Premier League clubs in January for US winger Monaco, Thomas Lemar.
The French national team remains a priority target for Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the January market, but Bayern were also interested in last August.
Local media said if Bayern senior Hasan Salihamidzic made sure they tried to have Lemar’s signature but were not interested in the price of Euro 90 million that Monaco had listed.
Monaco will not rule out the sale of the 21-year-old midfielder in January, but apart from that Bayern have retreated from the race track and will let the target turn to England.
Both the Gunners and the Reds for now still continue to be associated with Lemar.
