HI-Toledo is one of 31 councils of Hostelling International USA. Each council is self-governed and provides activities and programming. Activities include hiking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking and travel. The programs are mission-based and include Travel 101, Cultural Kitchen, Community Wall, environmental and Girl Scount programming. Programs are presented at various times throughout the year, but can also be provided upon request. If your group or organization would like to have us provide a program for you, please ask.
A hostel is a safe, affordable dormitory-style accommodation with a kitchen and common area for socializing and eating meals. Unlike other accommodations that segregate people, hostels promote interaction among people from all over the world.
There are hostels worldwide, 72 of them in the United States, including Malabar Farm here in Ohio.
